You don't need to travel to Africa to experience the thrill of a safari. Head instead to Baluran National Park for a day, where you can explore wide-open savanna grasslands that are home to a myriad of free-roaming wildlife, and enjoy the phenomenal sight of desert-like landscapes during the dry season.
Covering 250 sq km, the park is well worth visiting to catch sight of native creatures such as the endangered Javanese water buffalo and the Javan Rusa Deer as well as a variety of spectacular birds, including hornbills and peacocks. Be sure to stop by the observation tower while exploring the savanna for a great view overlooking the dryland. You'll also get to view a Jurassic-like jungle on your way to Bama Beach. It is sure to be a day of precious memories.
