Downhill Ride at Sunrise

Cycle through beautiful scenery as the sun begins to rise. Begin your ride at the village of Tamansari on the slopes of Ijen mountain. Stop at a traditional sulphur processing plant to see how sulphur rock is transformed into sulphur crystals, a raw material used in a variety of industries. Continue downhill to Kalibendo coffee and rubber plantation for coffee and a light bite. If you'd like, you can tour the rubber and coffee processing factory (optional at a fee), where the processes are still very much done by hand. Then it's on to Kemiren Village, a great place to see the architecture of the Osing ethnic people of Banyuwangi.
The cycling back to the hotel journey (downhill ride) is approximately 15 km.
Itinerary :
- 04.30 – Wake-up call.
- 05.00 – Admire the sunrise from the hotel pool or lobby.
- 05.15 – Depart from the hotel.
- 05.45 – Arrive at the Tamansari carpark and start cycling.
- 06.15 – Cycle on a quick tour through a traditional sulphur processing plant.
- 06.45 – Continue downhill to Kalibendo coffee and rubber plantation for coffee and a light bite, with the option to tour the rubber and coffee processing factory.
- 07.15 – Stop by Kemiren Village to observe the Osing traditional houses and Osing women in traditional dress going about daily life.
- 07.45 – Continue with a slow and relaxing downhill ride.
- 08.15 – Arrive back at the hotel.
